Abstract |
An 89-year-old man admitted to our institution with bilateral upper extremities weakness and posterior neck pain.
Previous trauma history was unremarkable. Cervical spine X-ray and computed tomography (CT) show bilateral facet
dislocation at C5-6 without any bony fractures. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) presents increased T2 signal
intensity in the C5-6 with cord compression. After closed reduction, we performed anterior cervical discectomy and
fusion at C5-6. The patient tolerated well postoperatively without complication. After 8 weeks rehabilitation, he had
improvement in strength and performance of both arm. We reported a rare case of non traumatic midcervical facet
dislocation in a very elderly patient. |
