Abstract |
We report a case of parkinsonism developed early after a ventriculoperitoneal shunt for communicating hydrocephalus due to subarachnoid hemorrhage. 68-year old man who had ruptured anterior communicating artery aneurysm presented hydrocephalus after neck clipping. He underwent a shunt operation. Eight days after shunt, parkinson like symptoms occurred. Follow-up brain computed tomography (CT) showed no evidence of hydrocephalus or shunt malfunction. His symptoms were improved after dopaminergic therapy for 5 months and the medication is needed no longer. |
